Getting Started
1: Create a stereovampire account. Visit the sign up page here and return to this guide.
2: Wait to receive an email inviting you to access the media library hosted on Plex. Plex is a streaming service that allows users to upload and share their own movies and shows. I have to send these invites manually so please be patient.
3: Click "accept the invitation" in the email.
4: Create a Plex account. Use the same email address for your Plex account that you used for your stereovampire account. Plex will ask you which categories you want pinned to your home page, I recommend these settings:
Congratulations, you can now view the content of the shared media server by visiting Plex!
You can do this by visiting app.plex.tv or by downloading the app on your phone or TV. I recommend downloading the Plex app on your TV by searching for “plex” on your smart TV.
Returning users - How to request new movies and shows
If there's something you'd like to watch but you don't have the right login and its not already on the Plex, you can request it here.
Visit stereovampire.com and access the Request Page. Write the name of what you want to see and click Add Request. If the media is niche or there are multiple versions please let me know which one you want by including the release year or any other helpful identifying info.
Once the movie or show is avaliable to watch, you'll receive an email letting you know it's ready.
On this page you'll also be able to see your previous submissions and their current statuses, like New, In Progress, On Hold, or Complete.
To delete a request, especially once it has been completed, you can do so by clicking the red “X” beside it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What if I already have a Plex account?
Use the same email address you used on your Plex account to create your stereovampire account. The invite link you receive via email will ask you to login to Plex - you can just do that instead of creating a new Plex account. It will then grant you access to the stereovampire media library.
Q: I'm having a problem watching Plex on my phone?
Plex will ask for $5 in exchange for the ability to watch content on your phone. It's a one time charge and lasts forever.
